The world of DIY around boats. – The Refit Center shows you can once again essential skills from seasoned experts. The repertoire ranges from splicing to even repair major damages with epoxy. We also talk about classic engines, modern ways of Propulsion and sustainabillity in building and maintaining boat.
Helge von der Linden and Stefan Baumgart for example demonstrate the steps from fixing a damage to seamlessly painting over the repair. Together with Trans-Ocean e.V., there will also be engine tips for long and short journeys: focusing on daily engine checks before setting off, early problem detection, and simple maintenance tasks such as oil and impeller changes. The workshop with Marlene & Bert Frisch (first half of the week) and Hinnerk Weiler (rest of the fair) is explicitly tailored for non-mechanics and Covers the basic components of an average boat diesel found in thousands of yachts.
Splices with modern ropework are not only more attractive than knots but also safer and more practical.
