Getting started with paddling - The Canoe on Tour Project -- boot Düsseldorf

Paddling is fun! Under this heading are 16 action days in July and August, on which holidaymakers and other interested parties can take the SUP board in their own hands or get into the canoe at selected campsites throughout Germany.

Of course, again with the support of boot Düsseldorf! As in the World of Paddling in hall 14 of boot, the campaign "Paddling is fun" is all about making the special fascination of canoeing tangible for everyone.

Idea behind the tour

The idea behind the tour is explained by organizer Lars Thierling: "Once you put people in a canoe, kayak or even a motorboat, their eyes light up and child, woman or man don't want to get out. This enthusiasm spurs us on every day anew to get vacationers out of their deck chairs and onto the water at the most beautiful campsites in Germany." With a professional briefing, the Paddeln-macht-Spass team conveys safety to the newcomers and almost always learns about the great enthusiasm of the people after the tour is over.

Something for every taste

Not only newcomers are addressed by the action "Paddling is fun! Experienced canoeists and paddlers also have the opportunity to put their equipment through its paces. This is used intensively, because exactly this target group sometimes travels distances of more than 200 km to experience the canoes brought along by the team in action! After all, the high-quality canoes, inflatable boats, SUP boards and fishing kayaks are a purchase for many years of recreational fun. Motorized water sports and snorkeling can also be tried on the tour: With flexible motors from boot exhibitor Torqeedo, for example, paddle boats can be converted in no time at all.

Inspire people for water sports

The Paddeln-macht-Spass! team is also active in winter: During the boot Düsseldorf, which promotes the project as a partner, the stage of the vacation world in hall 14 reports with many pictures and films about the action - about life and tours in the camper, the rental of canoes and kayaks and about the most beautiful water sports areas in Germany. In addition, the indoor river run in the World of Paddling at boot invites visitors to try out and participate. During the tour, the Paddeln-macht-Spass! team keeps an online diary with lots of colorful pictures, stories and experiences.

In recent years, the project has already brought around 10,000 people onto the water. Project manager Lars Thierling explains: "The basic idea is relatively simple - we want to get as many people as possible excited about the fascination of water sports who have had no or only sporadic contact with it up to now. We do this by approaching people where they are most relaxed and have the time - on vacation".
