LES TOILES DU LARGE SARL

20 years of history: Les Toiles du Large, a human and ecological adventure

In 2025, Les Toiles du Large celebrates 20 years of passion, creativity, and commitment. But the story of this unique company began much earlier, in 2002, with a simple yet meaningful gesture.

It all started with a friend embarking on a trip around the world. To accompany her on this journey, Anne, the founder of Les Toiles du Large, crafted bags from the worn sails of her friend’s boat. These bags, already filled with tales of travel and adventure, crossed the oceans alongside her. Soon, other creations followed—for swimming, sailing, or everyday use. Encouraged by her loved ones and driven by the joy of creating, Anne decided to take the project further.

2005: the birth of a professional project

In 2005, the project gained a professional dimension, as Anne joined a business incubator to test and develop her idea. By the spring of 2006, the Les Toiles du Large brand was officially registered, guided by a strong philosophy: to give sails a second life while sharing their stories. The concept of “one sail, one bag” was born—every sail donor would receive a bag made from their own sail, embodying a spirit of solidarity and circular economy.

A social and solidarity commitment

From the outset, Anne partnered with local work assistance organizations, allowing people with disabilities to participate in the manufacturing process. These authentic and human collaborations remain at the heart of the company’s DNA.

Growth anchored in local history

In 2010, Stéphane joined the adventure, bringing new energy to help the business grow. In 2012, Les Toiles du Large moved into an iconic location: the Armement building on the site of the La Ciotat shipyards.

An unwavering philosophy, 20 years on

Since its inception, Les Toiles du Large has remained true to its mission: to transform sails into beautiful creations while preserving their history. Each product is unique, bearing the seams, grommets, and navigation scars that tell its story.
